About the Competition
The proposed cycle track network will comprise a backbone from Tsuen Wan to Tuen Mun and Tuen Mun to Ma On Shan, and branching off sections to Lung Kwu Tan, Nam Sang Wai, Sai Kung and Sam Mun Tsai. The total length of the cycle tracks in the network is approximately 105 kilometres.

The cycle track between Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun is approximately 22 kilometres long with footpath. The cycle track will include supporting facilities such as entry/exit hubs and resting stations, and associated landscaping, traffic aids and ancillary works. In the entry/exit hubs and resting stations along the cycle track, cycle parking space with racks will be provided.

The Competition is to invite the public to contribute innovative conceptual design of cycle parking racks and layout of the cycle parking areas that can be blended into the design of the entry/exit hubs and resting stations.  The Project “Cycle track between Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun” includes two entry/ exit hubs and eight resting stations (Annex A of the Competition Document). The entry/ exit hubs will have cycle rental facilities, cycle parking, public toilets, refreshment kiosks, first aid kiosks, etc., while the resting stations will have cycle parking facilities and sitting-out area.  An indicative outline of cycle parking areas in entry/exit hubs is shown in Annex B of the Competition Document.

Prize-winning conceptual designs in the Competition may be incorporated into the cycle track network in the New Territories.
